Justin gave him a slight smile, recognizing instantly the pain in Brian's eyes. "Partners, right?" he asked softly.

Brian nodded slowly in agreement. "Partners." He looked at Pete. "Tie us up and strangle me legally."

Justin rolled his eyes. "How romantic. Just drop kick me across the threshold when we get home."

"I've just been putting it off since I hate having my hair cut."

"Why do you hate having your hair cut?" Brian asks.

"Oh," I say, about to drift off to sleep again, "the hairdressers always ask about the scars on my head, and it's just...weird to explain." Brian keeps stroking my hair, and I fall asleep.


There's something about this, that just makes it so real for me...I can imagine how that would be for Justin...

“And you’re going to love the Tower. Just think of the historical things that happened there,” Justin enthuses. “Lady Jane was beheaded there. And Anne Boleyn. The little princes were walled up there, left to die.”

And these things turn you on. You‘re very twisted,” Brian says. “I like that about you.

The taxi pulls up with a squeal of tires. Justin sees the puddle and nimbly takes a quick step back. Brian is not so lucky. He stares forlornly down at his now-soaked pant legs.

Could be fucking on the beach,” Brian mutters under his breath. “Getting sand in places that sand is never supposed to go.
