I actually DID sing Happy Birthday to myself when I noticed the clock said 5:56 pm, which just happens to be the time I was born 27 years ago.  Interestingly enough I was even at the hospital I was born at today...luckily not for myself.

It's been one of those days, where I've laughed, cried, been entertained & entertaining, eaten AWESOME food and eaten leftovers in a hurry.

(The Awesome stuff = +   The Not-So-Awesome = - )

+ Ate (and was treated to) SURF & TURF!  I love lobster.  And even though my steak was overdone (I asked for medium, and got it medium well, close to well done.) I enjoyed the steak immensely too.  The broasted potatoes were so awesome too.  Food paid for by my mother (...I'm pretty sure.  Her boyfriend MIGHT have paid, but I think she did.  I was in the bathroom when the bill was paid.), which rocks.  We went to Bricks Supperclub in Black Creek, WI.  It's a 40 minute drive from Green Bay, and it was pretty stormy when Mom's boyfriend Kim drove us.  It was awesome to be chauffeured.

+ Also ate Cinnamon Swirl Vanilla Bean Chiffon Cake, purchased in the bakery section of Copps grocery store, it was AWESOME.  I'm so glad that I picked it up as my Birthday cake.

- Ate a sub-par Mexican meal, was really looking forward to Fried Ice Cream, and they ended up serving ice cream in a fried bowl...not what I asked for!!    + But I didn't have time to ask for them to give me what I ordered, so the three of us enjoyed it anyway.  AND I didn't end up paying for it either, thanks to my co-worker who is just awesome.  :)

+ Got back to work to see my desk decorated--streamers in two different colors hanging down to the side of my cube, three helium balloons with a Seroogy's Melt Away bar as the weighter and golden shredded plastic streamers (like basket grass) all over my desk & hanging off my monitor.

+ So many people told me Happy Birthday:  tons of co-workers & visitors to my department wished me Happy Birthday.  :)  Tons of people at the ER did too.

+ Dad's nurse was a really nice guy.  He was also quite cute.  No, more than cute, he was pretty hot.  Way to hot for me, but still, a girl can dream, right?

+ Went to District 9 at the cheap theater.

- Mom paid for the tickets, but I ended up paying for the drinks, so while she paid $7.50. I paid $13.50.  Bummer.

- My phone battery is on its last legs, luckily my 2 year contract is up, so I just need to sign my life away for 2 more years to get another one cheep.  Or maybe pay a litte more for a cooler one.

+ Got happy birthday wish via email from one of my aunts.  :)

+ Had a phone conversation with my great aunt where she wished me happy birthday & commiserated  on how things were going in our lives.  Hopefully we'll find out soon that her cancer is gone for a while...

- Spent first 5 hours of my birthday awake with a headache, mostly at the Emergency Room with Dad coughing up blood.

- Woke up at 12:30pm, cried like a baby, called Mom because I felt so alone, cried some more.  Still feel like I could start crying and not stop.

- Felt like total scum when Dad wanted me to be on call to pick him up at the hospital because he "convinced them" to let him go  (Possibly out AMA, who knows anymore?) because I told him that I was heading out to a movie and so he said he'd take the bus that runs right by his house.

I just need to keep reminding myself that it could have been worse...its only working part of the time.  Also, must remember that some things have been totally awesome.
