almost half-way through
Sep. 21st, 2009 12:24 pmI'm part way through Season 5 of SG-1...weekend before last I got through 10 disks. This weekend, 4 disks. Slowly but surely, I'm watching all of the episodes. :) I love having the series.
annoying family
Jul. 9th, 2009 09:17 pmI love my family, I really do. But I don't really like them all that much. And I'm sure it's probably pretty mutual, since we often can't agree on anything and have differing interests.

So here's my comment from probably 6 months ago, when someone had a list of fic they would not write...I saved the comment with my other work in-progress & story ideas, and I went back today & still wanna write some of this (or, even better, read it)
002. Not allowed to write an AU where John is a rapper and Rodney is a music critic.
You mean like a rich/over-privileged Eminem?
(my brain overheated a bit at this thought, damn you!)
029. Not allowed to write James Spader/Michael Shanks.
thanks a ton Now my mind is seeing them at the bar of some boring charity gala, pretending not to know who the other is, both secretly annoyed when the other's date/wife is eyeing the other guy up too closely.
033. Not allowed to write Todd/Caldwell. unless it's Gou'ald!Caldwell, right?
053. Sheppard would never even attempt to teach Ronon about your mom jokes. Until someone spiked his drink while celebrating something-or-other on the mainland. Where he'll find out that the Marines already taught that one, and Ronon beat them extra hard for disrespect. He'll find Sheppard's jokes slightly more amusing, until John starts weeping because he misses his mommy...and that's when it truly goes downhill.
064. Todd does not listen to the Backstreet Boys. Nope, it's *NSYNC all the way, baby. Chris Kirkpatrick is the 3rd reason he helps Atlantis save Earth, right after revenge against his fellowman wraith and John Sheppard's flat-but-fine ass.
096. Sheppard is not, and never has been, a Mexican. But there was that one time in Tijuana...no, I won't go there! Bad Brain!
Ok, this list rocks, and you've corrupted my brain (but at least the kids on M7G-667 are safe, for now)
I will not offer candy to the alien kids. Sheppard will not offer candy to the alien kids. Sheppard is not a scary child molester type person. He only visits to see Keras, who is totally over the age of consent. Damn brain, now I'm seeing a horrible dark fic where there was sunshine and consentual slash between Earthers & the occasional HotHotHot alien teammate before.

I may have gone a bit overboard...I only meant to mention 2, but then I started adding others who rock and suddenly I had to stop, even though there were others I wanted to write about. There are so many great writers out there. :-)

wow, summer already?
Jul. 1st, 2009 01:44 pmSo, here's my first post--it only took me two months.
Life is sorta boring at the moment, but I've been reading some great fic and today the 5th season on SGA was delivered. I can't wait to get home and pop it in. I only caught 4 or 5 episodes, so it'll be great. (Even if I find Keller annoying now with the McKeller storyline they created...)
Tomorrow I'll be getting the complete series of SG-1, yay Col. Mitchell here I come!
I know a some people have boycotted Amazon, but I haven't yet (although if they pull more "oops" type things, I might have to). I like their prices on a lot of stuff, so they'd better be good.
